I could sit here and go on and on about the things Rod accomplished while he was with us, but I could never say it all.
So, for those who knew Rod, you will all always have your own memories of the ways he touched you while he was here. Let it
be while working for HUD to improve the housing of those who needed it, or for sharing ideas and giving support to friends,
family and co-workers.
In A Nutshell...
Rod was born in May of 1971 to the proud parents of Rod and Cindi Welling. He was introduced to music in the 5th grade
where he started playing the snare drum in the school band. That year he was given his first complete drum set for his birthday
and boy did he ever play that thing.
He graduated from SUNY in Fredonia, N.Y. with a Bachelors Degree in Graphic Design. He began writing, producing, filming
and editing commercials for HUD and working with a close friend designing children's video tapes and toys.
While going to school and working for HUD, he somehow managed to research past history of his hometown, take some images
from the early 1900's and produce nine murals in a retirement building. These are posted in the picture section of this web
site. (coming soon)
Rod was always to modest to admit he had talents others only dreamed of. I hope I don't upset him for being so proud
of him and wanting to share his accomplishments with the rest of you.

My Brother
I am grateful for the memories I have of Rod. I am also proud to say for the last 31 years I have been a brother
to one of the coolest, most understanding and talented people I ever met. Don't get me wrong, when we were young we were just
like a couple of your typical brothers fighting, however, once we grew up a little all that changed. I'd say since Rod graduated
high school in 1989 we quickly became more like very close friends. I could talk to Rod about anything and I could expect
an honest answer from him no matter what the answer was. Not only would he answer honestly, most importantly, he would listen
and listen some more.I will miss him dearly!
I still talk to him though because I know he is still listening.
